I have been using this laundry center for a couple of months before writing this review. My wife and I looked at a lot of laundry centers before finally choosing this one. After reading reviews of other products, I was afraid that we would get stuck with a cheap, unstable piece of junk. When this arrived, I found the opposite to be true.
The highlights: Most of the pieces are metal and everything fit together quite well. It really is quite snug in some places, but I'd rather too snug than too loose. I feel like someone actually thought about how people would be using this laundry center, because of features like the locking casters and the removable laundry bags. The bags hang onto the bar by Velcro, which I initially thought would be too weak. This is some heavy-duty Velcro, however, and even when the bags are full, they won't budge from the rail. The casters, although small and plastic, roll very smoothly on our linoleum floor. Two of the casters have locks on them, which prevents the cart of moving of its own accord (it can still be dragged, however). The unit is well-balanced and easy to put together.
The drawbacks: The assembly instructions aren't terribly clear, but looking at the exploded view helped me understand what they were talking about. My parts list erroneously listed 3 side bars instead of the correct 2, which almost caused me to pack up all the parts and send it back. However, once again, the exploded view (and a little common sense) helped me to realize that I had all of the parts I needed. The weakest part of the entire unit seems to be the plastic base units (the base bars are metal), but they've held up so far with no sign of detrimental stress. My 2 biggest gripes are both with the hanger bar. First, it doesn't go up high enough for our hanging clothes to clear the laundry bags. It would be nice if the hanger bar would extend up another 2 or 3 inches. My other gripe is that, if you do want to adjust the height of the hangar bar, it's not exactly easy to do (again, some of the pieces are quite snug).
The bottom line: This unit manages to be both lightweight and sturdy. When assembled correctly - which is easy to do - it doesn't lean or wobble, although the hanger bar isn't as high as it should be. I highly recommend this product for its convenience, ease of assembly and use, reliability, and definitely for its price ($49.99 at the time of this writing).
